LANAO DEL NORTE – Iligan City’s ecological tourism ‘Tinago Falls” gets P9.8 million budget for rehabilitation and improvements including the authorization of collecting fees as government-owned spot upon approval of the proposed ordinance by the local government of the city.
City Ordinance No. 08-5347-42 entitled; “An Ordinance Declaring the Collection from The Gate and Other Fees Collected from The Tinago Falls Leased Area as Special Account for The Minimal Maintenance of the Tourist Facilities and for Other Purposes,” also renaming Tinago Falls into Tinago Mountain Resort and tackles charges in the use of resort’s facilities and parking area.
Sections of the proposed ordinance include the imposition and collection of entrance fee by the city government, which will be shared by the so-called ‘Tourism Triad’ of Iligan namely: Barangay Ditucalan (the host barangay of the Resort), Barangay Buru-un and Barangay Maria Cristina.
The proposal also considered the City Human Resource Management Office (CHRMO) to issue job orders as may be necessary for the maintenance and operation of the resort facilities managing by the designated Technical Working Group which will be the policy making body of the tourism spot.
